The Great Pyramid and years 1925-1926

The Watchtower Society beside the presentation of calculations of 1925 and 1926 also confirmed them by the dimensions of the Great Pyramid, known as the Pyramid of Cheops. Here are some examples illustrating it:

Following that, we should expect that the year 1926 would be, chronologically, the beginning of the antitype the beginning of the great Jubilee for all the world, during which every son of Adam, who will, may become a free man, and return to his father’s estate, to the inheritance of the earth, and to perfection of mind and body. Instead of being a period of one year the antitype will be a period of 1,000 years, during which Christ the Lord shall be King over all the earth. (Zechariah 14:9) If this is indicated in the Pyramid, we should expect to find it in connection wit His resurrection, ascension and return to establish His kingdom. It would also be after His special work with the Church, typified by the sudden closing of the Grand Gallery at the south end. (The Golden Age December 31, 1924 p. 221).

The same passage about the Pyramid was published more than 6 months earlier, but the sentence contained a bit different words:

Instead of being a period of one year the antitype will be a period of 1,000 years, during which Christ will have charge of the entire work. (The Golden Age May 21, 1924 p. 537).

Thus we see that the Grand Gallery reaches up to the beginning of the last chronologically typical year 1925, beginning with the fall of 1924; and the this typical year will merge into the Great World Jubilee, beginning in the fall of 1925. We believe that the Lord will in some way mark the year 1925 as clearly as He marked the year 1914. (...) The Bible and the Great Pyramid run parallel throughout. (The Golden Age December 31, 1924 p. 222).

The restitution blessings are closely connected with the resurrection of Christ; and therefore the date 32.25 A. D., as indicated the location of the “well”, is a logical point for a time measurement. All measurements of the passages are along the center of the floor unless otherwise stated. The “well” ends at the side wall, and is therefore 21 inches from the center of the Grand Gallery floor. The mouth of the “well” is rough and uneven and some 26 inches wide, so the center of the opening would be the logical point at which to begin a measurement. This center is 39 inches up from the vertical line of the north wall. As the full length of the Grand Gallery is 1,815.25 inches this would leave l,776.25 to be counted. We therefore begin with the center of the “well” opening as 32.25 A. D. to this we add the 21 inches to the center of the floor; then the 1,776.25 up to the “step” or riser at the upper end of the inclined floor; then add 36 inches, the distance up the “step”; then horizontally from the edge of the “step” to the south wall, at its extreme length, is 61 inches, total (32.25 plus 21 plus 1,776.25 plus 36 plus 61) 1,926.50 British inches, or 1,924.50 Pyramid inches. Otherwise stated, 1,924.50 years reaches to the middle of 1925 A. D. This would seem to indicate that all special work for the Gospel Age Church may be considered closed at that time. A special work for the world will then be due to begin. (...) The Bible and the Great Pyramid run parallel throughout. (The Golden Age May 21, 1924 pp. 537-538).

Recently, Jehovah’s Witnesses organization has recalled its past calculations of the Pyramid:

In 1886 when C. T. Russell published a book that came to be called The Divine Plan of the Ages, this volume contained a chart linking the ages of mankind with the Great Pyramid of Egypt. It was thought that this memorial of Pharaoh Khufu was the pillar referred to at Isaiah 19:19, 20: “In that day there will prove to be an altar to Jehovah in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar to Jehovah beside its boundary. And it must prove to be for a sign and for a witness to Jehovah of armies in the land of Egypt.” What relationship could the pyramid have with the Bible? Well, as an example, the length of certain passages in the Great Pyramid was said to indicate the time for the beginning of the “great tribulation” of Matthew 24:21, as it was then understood. Some Bible Students became engrossed with measuring different features of the pyramid to determine such matters as the day they would be going to heaven! This so-called Bible in Stone was held in esteem for some decades, until the Watchtower issues of November 15 and December 1, 1928, made clear that Jehovah needed no stone monument built by pagan pharaohs and containing demonic signs of astrology to confirm the witness given in the Bible. Rather, Isaiah’s prophecy was seen to have a spiritual application. (The Watchtower January 1, 2000 pp. 9- 10).
